Cardiff South

Cardiff South includes the old communities of Butetown, Grangetown and Splott, supplemented by a rich and diverse mix of ethnic groups. The area has changed in recent years as the old docklands were regenerated into Cardiff Bay, leading to an influx of largely young, professional residents.

Cardiff Bay has witnessed significant investment including numerous businesses, the Welsh Assembly and the Millennium Centre and has developed into a major tourist attraction, which jostles for position amongst the poverty and deprivation that still resides in the area.

It also includes the outer suburbs of Trowbridge, Rumney, Llanrumney and St Mellons which are largely residential.
